so you suddenly came into €20,000. How would you spend it, invest it, or save it?

There are people out there with good business acumen, who could turn €500 into €10,000.

I'd be happy enough to just sit down and have a nice cup of tea and a digestive biscuit. I might treat myself to a choco leibniz maybe.

Pay off loans and stick the rest in the rainy day account.

First thing you should do is pay off any debts or loans.

Second is to go on a mad binge.

    £20,000 quick-pick

Coke and Hookers with half of it.

The rest, I'd probably just waste on something frivolous.

I know I should prob be sensible with it, or some of it, but I'd probably be looking at flights, accommodation, and tickets to the Rugby World Cup next year - and then money for seeing Japan.

    🤪

We're due another recession in the next few years so I'd buy gold and look to sell for a tidy profit in a few years time. Then rinse and repeat in due course.

I was in the situation over a year ago. Won 10k in my local credit union. Totally forgot I even had an account. Used 5k towards buying share options in employeers company of which are worth 7k -8k. The other 5k I took out in cash went on a holiday to Italy, Milan, Venic, Florence, Rome for 2 weeks. That Chrisrmas spent one night in a 5star hotel in cork (first time ever) the balance of cash left over is only 1-2k but that's going to get me to Asia for 3 weeks next year.

Not overly exciting but easy come easy go :D

Honestly. I'd pay off my debts. Buy a headstone for my dads grave. Maybe take a holiday to Oz and more than likely waste the rest.

Buy gold when world economy is good, sell when the next recession happens, then use that money to buy more once the economy picks up again.

Pay off any potential loans. Invest in gold. Buy an apartment in Spain and rent it out. Index funds.

    Just a few ideas.

You'd be surprised, when I visited over there and went to the real Spanish towns there was apartments going for €39,000. Nice ones, too.
