Just wondering how everyone else is dealing with the M1 chaos lately. I have been communting to Dublin for 3 years now and the last 2/3 months have been ridiculous. This week alone has seen two issues with the port tunnel. Anyone else spending excessive time in a car or bus due to this?

There were no issues with the port tunnel. They closed it off, because the port had to be closed, due to excessive weather.

Yes. There were no issues with the tunnel. But the tunnel not being open caused the issues.

On Tuesday the weather was too windy that the lorries couldn't get onto the ship's. Tunnel metered.

Today, there was an issue around Sam Beckett bridge and the traffic had backed up as far as the tunnel exit. So they had to meter it.

Both times the tunnel was metered, but when that happens the M1 fills up, santry exit fills, r139 fills and so on.
Both times this week the m1 was back as far as lusk.

It's disgraceful really but nothing can be done. People are paying the 10 euro toll, next step will be to raise it again to stop cars using it.
