Skateboarding on roads

When the hell did it become acceptable to skateboard on the roads. I see it in Dublin city a lot especially around the Grand Canal Docks. It’s 10:45 pm and there’s a fool on a longboard, all in black with no lights and he’s skating down in the bus lane past the An Post depot in Clondalkin.
I often see another idiot at night going down the slip road from Naas rd to M50 outside the red cow around 11 at night, again all in dark clothing. You hit a stone or a hole and you are going down hard and under a car.

I can't fathom why you/anyone would wish to stop ppl doing stuff that is fun and healthy. Do you want young ppl to be stuck indoors every evening playing video games?

There are a lot of ppl who should be barred from the Grand Canal Docks area but young ppl on skateboards isn't one of them.

There’s another half wit going down the wrong way on the one way road between hino Harris and woodies on a electric scooter and is now on the Naas rd bike lane. At least they have a small red light close to the ground so a driver at least has a chance.
I’m walking a small white dog past red cow now. If you see, say hi.
