    Hi guys,

I'm hoping somebody can help with problems my Dad is having with his laptop.

It's an Acer Aspire ES 15 (ES1-533-P5QE) running Windows 10.
It has a Pentium quad core N4200 processor but that's all the info that's given on the outside of the laptop.

Basically it was getting very slow recently, it was as though something was going on in the background, and it would become completely unresponsive. If left alone for a good while, it would eventually start working again, and Dad figured perhaps it was a big windows update or something. It got more and more frequent and my husband checked logs on it and saw that Bonjour was throwing up a lot of errors, so he uninstalled that and it improved for about 24 hours.

However, it started freezing again last night while Dad was online using chrome. He decided to do a system restore to a point before this started happening, however, now the PC won't boot up at all. When I turn it on, I get the Acer splash screen and underneath that it says "diagnosing your pc" then eventually I get the message

"Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC

Press 'Advanced options' to try other options to repair your PC, or 'Shut down ' to turn off your PC.
    Log file: C\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt"

When I try advanced options, apart from shutting down the PC, the only thing I've managed to get to work is opening a command window, which I've attached a photo of, but that's pretty much where my abilities end.

Is there anything I can type into the command window to try and fix what's going on? I've tried booting into safe mode but that just results in the same error message about automatic repair. I don't know if the system restore completed, or what it was that caused the problem in the first place.

Any help would be much appreciated.
