Looking to give MTL a bash and looking for some recommendations on a good (and cheap) starter tank/dripper.

    Cheers,

Thanks for that. I'm not big on prebuilt coils so might not be for me.

Then get a Kayfun Prime (clone) or the Doggy tank and or the Berserker. All 3 tanks are at the top for mtl imo.

So it's a MTL RTA you need, there is about 3 or 4 top class tanks out there, can't remember the names at the moment but check out Vaping with Vic...

    Here's one I found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIshNkxxHjc

Check out another tank called "True Tank" Vic did a review on that as well...

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of the Berserker my only reservation being that I've read it can be a bit tricky to get the wicking right. Have either of you had trouble with it?

Siren has been our well over a year now, so has come down in price. I think it's a great tank. Personally I find the prime clone hard to wicker.
Lovely draw once you've it right. My favourite though is the berserker. There's a new 22m version coming out which Vic has reviewed...

I’ve been running a kayfun mini v3 for years. Best MTL tank I’ve ever owned. Highly recommend. It’s very forgiving on coil and wick placement. Decent clones of it in fast tech if you can’t plum for an authentic one.

I've a load of of MTL rtas and I'd probably recommend Siren 2 as well for a beginner. Easy to build and decent flavour. There is better tanks out there for sure but they all have their niggles. Berserker is amazing for flavour but between unforgiving wicking and leaking after refill I'd find it hard to recommend to a beginner. At the moment my favourite is the Vapefly Galaxies MTL rta but it can be tricky to wick and airflow control is a nuisance. I have the naturevape true mtl on the way too, heard good things about it

Berzerker - it's not that hard to get the wicking right - maybe the first built or two will be leaky, but once you realise what you need to do it's grand. I loved mine, until I got the Kayfun Prime clone that Osiris linked above - dear god above it's the greatest thing ever! Thanks again for that Osiris!

MTL drippers - I have the Amit and the Berzerker and I found both to be completely unusable.

As above really, there are 3 that I use daily.
Galaxies rta, super flavour, afc is a little fiddly at the beginning but once you have it set then you need never touch it.
Galaxies rdta, again a flavour machine, large selection of air flow options, includes a bf pin but I'm not keen on that particular option.
Savour rta, straightforward rta, fabulous throat hit and very flavorful vape.
