My OH is not too happy in his current line of work and he saw an opening for work as a driving instructor.
Does anyone else work as one? What is the job like in terms of stress level?

They say "on target earnings" of €35k. Does that mean he'd have to poach his own students, if not, he has no income? Or would Airport send jobs to him?
Can you choose your own working time or do you have to take whatever jobs Airport would give you?

Since he'd be driving a fleet car, would he have to insure it? Or would it be insured by Airport?

Would his own insurance go up (even though he isn't using his own car)? You know how insurers deem certain jobs to be "higher risk".

TBH whenever these Companies advertise for 'Trainee Instructors' all they are really looking for is people prepared to pay them to get RSA (ADI) registered.
For the larger companies (such as Airport) it's just another Revenue Stream. I'm sure they do keep on a few of the newly qualified Instructors but that's more down to other Instructors leaving than anything else.
If your OH is in a half decent 9-5 PAYE job at present I would stay there and just keep looking for another job with the same benefits.

If he is self- employed, it could be a case of frying pan into the fire.....if he's not happy with self-employment at present maybe he should consider looking at a 9-5. Even if it means a slightly smaller income the benefits (Holidays, Pension, Sick-days, etc) often outweigh everything else.

These "jobs" are akin to other MLM sales.

    Agree with the above

Also on the car you mentioned, it's not a fleet car. You buy the car and pay to have it put to their standard and you're stuck with it. You buy your own insurance too.

You become self employed with these guys and work can be hit and miss depending on time of year etc.

I'd strongly recommend your OH has nothing to do with these guys for this.

Also not to mention they charge a crazy amount for their course to become an ADI which is rubbish anyway.

Also working anti social times like evenings and weekends due to demand and a lot of down time if car breaks down etc and you wait and pay for repairs.

Stick to the day job !

Yep. You're not an employee, you're a customer.
