Just as something interesting to have in my quiver can anyone recommend what magnification of a monocular is required to have a reasonable view of the target at 18 meters?

I'm not expecting to be able to determine a line break but just a clear vision of whether it's an X or 10 or in my case a 7 or 8 :)

I have a €25 scope from Lidl or Aldi, Maginon is the brand name. It's 20x-60x and works just about up to 50m. At 25 or 18m it's plenty. It isn't great in darker conditions, but works well apart from that.

I just bought a scope in the amazon black friday deals:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073ZD3RPC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

was like 45 quid plus free delivery to parcel motel.

went for the 70 mm for a bit extra light as some places can be kinda dark. 80 would be better but for just archery 80mm prices are to high.

Ya I saw that this weekend. I took it out of the box in the shop and it's quite heavy and big. Going to get something smaller and lighter.
