    Twenty-ten gazillion

There’s definitely more than that. You’re just taking the pi55 out of a perfectly reasonable question.

There's loads of old ones being used for weddings, not too many Phantoms around though I'd imagine.

I saw four of the real vintage ones (1920's I think) parked up two years ago in my local village, they were doing the Ring of Kerry.

The cars were pristine, every single part visible was immaculate, I was speaking to one couple who owned one and they loved their car.

The lady left slip that the one they were driving that day was her favourite of all the ones they have.

Question is far too vague... do you mean 'contemporary cars' or models from all era's... Not too far from me is a man with one of the largest collection of RR's in the country, some 30 or more models, mostly pre war.
Karl Goodwin motors, not far from where I work has a 2004 one for sale !

I would say, at a guess, taking in all models from 1900's up to today, there could easily be a few thousand or so variants, but if you are talking about cars from the past 10 years it's impossible to guess.
The SIMI cars sale statistics tends not to list Rolls or Bently for example as a stand alone make, and simply lists them as 'others'.

Well, if they're Phantoms, that's gonna make them almost impossible to spot without some serious Ghost-hunting equipment...

Sounds like quite a hobby and fair play to him. Serious question as I'm genuinely interested, how does he store them do you have any idea?

I know a guy that collects vintage motorbikes and he keeps them indoors, out of the sunlight, at the same room temperature all year round except when he takes them out for a spin obviously.

He keeps them immaculate but in fairness he uses all of them at least once a year. He gets as much a kick out of cleaning and polishing them in the winter as he does cruising around scenic roads in the summer.

You could mention any old bike to this fella and he could talk about it for 20 minutes and make it sound very interesting. Every time after I've chatted with him I came away thinking fair play to him because he's actually living his dream.

And then I think, wouldn't it be nice to own all them bikes and be cleaning them in the winter and riding around with one of those pisspot helmets on your head with your imaginary long hair blowing in the wind on a summers day?

It probably wouldn't be my cup of tea to be quite honest, but I'm living my own dream anyway so it's all the one.

The fakes are easy to spot. If you really had one you'd know the name of it . :)

Surely he objects to you using him to polish one off?

Anyway, OP you'd be better of frame the question such as how many Rolls have been registered new or used in Ireland since 2010. Stats should be available for that.

Thanks for that swarlb, a very interesting write up about a fascinating man.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was himself and his wife I was speaking to.

I read an article (not too long ago) that an inordinately high percentage of all RR's built are still on the road worldwide; a testament to their build quality.
I would hazard that much of that tally survive outside of the damp climes of Ireland/UK, and further to say that most of the survivors are pre-mid 60s. I'd say a lot of the 60s/70s Silver Shadows sold in this part of the world succumbed to lack of maintenance/back street trading and were left to rot or became uneconomical to maintain/repair.
I imagine that production numbers are higher in the last decade than ever before, so that may skew the figures somewhat.

Thanks to swarlb, we know of at least 30 in one county alone, how many in the country in total..must be close to a hundred..that's my guess, what do I win? :)

Don't know how many rollers are in the country, but I've seen some dodgy looking ones in my time. Some of the wedding hire ones are literally held together with duct tape and white paint. A lot of them would be UK MOT failures bought heap. Rollers are eye-watering to maintain - I know a guy who is a roller fanatic that helps people with work on them - he told me that a suspension squeak can end up being a €10k job! One of the problems is that what would be a simple enough job on most cars (say a head gasket change) can be a huge job on a roller, requiring specialised tools, rebuilding of parts, and huge expense.

They'd be dinged in Ireland if you parked on in public.

I think Goodwins have 2 there
have seen at least 4 back in the day so at a guess now 8-10

Apparently Pino Harris has a new Phantom on order before he sadly passed away last year.

There is an 11-D black Phantom in private use in Dublin (sad, I know, but I checked and it’s not a PSV)

Harford Motors have an 07 Phantom (years now!) and Karl Goodwin (the car dealer) has an 04 with 200k on the clock.

I’m sure there are more. I would imagine Mr Magnier has one alongside his Maybach with customary XX-TS-777 reg.

There are loads and loads of classic Rollers on our shores.

That’s called a Mirage, it’s actually based on an older model (Silver Spirit maybe) , Jennings Undertakers own it.

I've seen it once or twice since around Blackrock, I'll say it fooled me!
