LG 50UK6750PLD -vs- Samsung UE50NU7400

    Hi guys,

I've been looking at the LG 50UK6750PLD and Samsung UE50NU7400 on the site, and I'm having a hard time deciding between them.

For some context, my usage will be mostly video games, with some movie watching thrown in. The TV will be on a TV stand, away from the wall, so TV  thickness  is of no concern at all. I've no preference in software.

My main concern is probably picture quality, and performance for gaming.

Anyway, I have some questions if you wouldn't mind answering them please:
    • Can you confirm the LG is a VA panel?
    • Can you check the subpixel structure on the LG (RGBW or RGB)? (I know many of the smaller LG panels are RGBW - it'd be a deal breaker for me and the Samusung would win be default.)
    • I know the Samsung has a very good input lag (good for gaming). Do you know how the LG compares to that?
    • For SDR sources, which TV will do it better?
    • I realise that at this price point, HDR performance won't be great, honestly I'm not expecting a great deal there. But which TV does it better? I see that the LG is direct lit, while the Samsung is edge lit. In my mind, that means the LG would have better local dimming, but I couldn't find any information about that online.
    • If I'm at the back of the TV, are the inputs on the left or the right hand side?

Thanks very much... and sorry for all the questions!

    Hi Wilfinity.

I would need to contact LG direct for some of those answers as they are not in their manuals or on the website spec lists.
i will not get anyone in the tech department until Monday though.

    The 50UK6750 is a 4K IPS panel.
As far as I can gather from research the 50UK6750 has RGB subpixel structure.
For the input lag I found the following:
    1080p @ 60Hz

    : 10.7 ms

     1080p @ 60Hz + HDR

    : 10.7 ms

     1080p @ 60Hz Outside Game Mode

    : 126.8 ms

     1080p @ 120Hz

    : N/A

     4k @ 60Hz

    : 10.9 ms

     4k @ 60Hz + HDR

    : 11.2 ms

     4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4

    : 10.8 ms

     4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 + 8 bit HDR

    : 10.9 ms

     4k @ 60Hz Outside Game Mode

    : 127.0 ms

     4k With Interpolation

    : 127.1 ms

I have not seen both these televisions up and running but I would say they would handle SD as well as each other.

The link below gives a pretty detailed break down of the 50UK6750:
    https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/uk6570

Both televisions are in stock and ready to ship.

Let me know which you would like to go for and we can take it from there.
