Mongolia in January

    Hello fellow boardies,

    I'm travelling to Mongolia via Russia (taking the trans-sib as far as Ulan Ude then getting the bus to Ulaanbatarr at the end of January). Has anyone here travelled to Mongolia in the winter or going to be there about this time?

    I'm looking to get out of UB and see more of mongolia, but can't afford to stump out for an organised tour. Basically, I'm looking to find some fellow travellers to split the hire of a guide and 4x4.

    Anyone interested? Or able to provide some advice about Mongolia travel at this time of year would be greatly appreciated.
