Getting Sky installed!

We currently have a sky satellite dish outside (It's a year old) inside we have a saorview connect box and we get the free to air channels.
We decided to get sky and were told they'll be an engineer calling to install sky TV.
Will our current dish do or will they have to install a new one?
The satellite wire is feed through a drilled hole in the window frame. Will this do or will they have to install the wire in the attic?

Sorry if the post is confusing.

If the dish is a genuine oval Sky dish and in good condition they'll use it. The LNB will be replaced by a twin output wideband LNB, from there 2 co-ax cables to the box.

If you plan to use the Saorview hybrid box elsewhere in the house for FTA satellite reception get the installer to fit a 6 output hybrid LNB that will work with SkyQ and legacy receivers.

Will the satellite wire be okay going in the hole in the window?(It's causing no issues)

It shouldn't be a problem but they will have to run a second cable to the box.

Are you getting sky q? That needs a new dish I think

No, just new LNB. The LNB is designed for the current Mk.4 Sky dish.

I'm not in the mood to tidy the attic for them!

Will the installer definitely have one of these on hand? I was on to Sky about upgrading to Q and asked about this as we'll need one to keep an old box working. The woman wasn't sure and when she checked, her supervisor recommended that we supply one ourselves and have it to hand to the installer when he arrives.

They used to have them in the van. I just told installer customer service said they will install. Handy as let's you run a cable to any free to air boxes or tvs with satellite tuner

I believe they carry a few in the van. My brother upgraded last May, installer's first call of the day and installed one no problem.

When I got them in last year I had them specify it on the order and when the installer called the night before to confirm a time, I mentioned it to him as well so he'd have it with him.

Good thing too as I kept my Freesat box and am ditching Sky this year because of the end-of-contract price hike and unwillingness to negotiate (wanted an extra €26 for the same bundle)

Also Sky Q is shyte vs the long-proven HD setup. A lot slower and cluttered with stuff I have no interest in... but that's my two cents as someone who rarely watches live TV anyway these days.
