I have 2 interviews this week for a reservations agent position (one is in a 5 star hotel, the other is in a hostel)

I have a degree in tourism and marketing, customer service experience, admin experience, and experience in tourist attraction if that helps.

Any advice? I am awful at interviews.

Focus on attention to detail and sales skills. Attention to detail is huge in the industry for obvious reasons as mistakes can be costly and poor for customer experience.

Sales skills such as how you would upsell somebody from a basic room to a more expensive one.

For the 5 star property look up their different room types and be able to express how you would be able to sell it ,for example, because you were so impressed with how the executive rooms all have city views (sample point but you get the idea) just shows you've done your research

Recognise and state during the interview that for many callers you realise that you will be their first impression of the property and you take that responsibility seriously.

Most of the same stuff applies for the hostel just find their selling points and be prepared to drop them in during the interview.

    Good luck!
