    I have a ptsb account.

I want to transfer (wire?) to a US account - a personal one.

Anyone know what way it works. What numbers do I need from the person in the US. Do they have bic and ibans also??

For an international wire transfer, you'd generally need the US account's account number and ACH routing number, and the bank's SWIFT code. Check with your US bank (or have the account owner check) to get this information. US banks do not participate in the IBAN scheme and don't have a BIC or IBAN.

Be careful about the FX rate. If you want a good FX rate use an online currency broker such as Currency Fair.

I use Transferwise to go from USA to Ireland.

Pretty good at the old exchange rates compared to bank rates.

    You will need:

    Bank Routing Number (ABA number)
    Bank Swift
    Bank Account Number
    Name of Bank
    Address of Bank

Ugh. I guess I'll have to do a load of aml stiff to set up with them?? I'm pretty tight on time.

Kind of wanted to get the transfer gone this week.

Hey what about this idea?? I get a us dollar cheque and post it over

You can do this very quickly.

It is not difficult. If a check/cheque is sent it can be quite expensive to change if it is not drawn on a US bank. Dont forget the postage time in the states can be quite long compared to Europe.

Transfer wise will take a day... its simple

Buy a US dollar bank draft. It will be drawn on a US bank. Anybody I have sent them to has never had an issue - although it has been some years since I have done it.
