€750 supervalu Facebook scam

My mother in-law came across something on Facebook which told her to text a number and get €750 to use in supervalu.

Of course this was a scam and she got a reply saying she’s now subscribed to gamer at €10 or something like that.

Google doesn’t bring up too much except about a previous scam earlier in the year involving a text from supervalu offering €750 for a brief survey.

I’m trying to find a way to end the subscription. Otherwise I told her her best bet is to go into a Vodafone shop to see if they can help.

Is there a number to end the subscription?

You usually just have to text 'STOP' to the number.

    Thanks. I asked her that.

Apparently she responded to the scam on Facebook. It asked her to enter her number so there is no number she can text back.

Let her play the 10 euro a month - then she'll learn not to respond to stupid scams in the first place. Harsh, I know.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

If only I could follow down that dank path lol. To make things even worse. Her 14 year old grandson encouraged her to enter lol.

Hopefully VF will be able to do something for her when she explains the scam. The old saying still stands though; if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Yeah. She’s on payg so the worse that will happen is she’ll just get a new number and lose the rest of whatever credit she has left.

So his pocket money is reduced by 10 euro a month until it stops, everyone wins! And if he doesn't care, then he's obviously the one behind the scam...

I suggested 1 hour in a locked room with me would sort him out lol. :pac:

If your on payg a new number will put and end to that. A bit of a pain but better than losing money.

If you can find out what number she texted we might be able to find out what exactly she subscribed to and maybe get unsubscribed.
Vodafone won't be much help, they're quite limited in what they're willing/able to do, especially if she signed up willingly.

It was a Facebook post and she gave her number. She tells me there is no number but she did get a text informing her of the €10 subscription.

I’ll need to look at her text tomorrow.

Lots and lots of vouchers listed.

Do they have a lottery licence ?

Would a freedom of information request show how few people have won ?

Are the vouchers legit and if so what would that make you think of any retailer that would associate with such bottom feeders ?

Why do you think they are associated in any way?
Anyone can walk into a shop and buy a gift voucher.

    Scammers gonna scam.
