Hey lads. Would anyone on here know the correct fuse size needed for a 4x4 winch on a jeep?
I failed the nct last week because the winch wasn't wired though a fuse.

    It's a 4.1kw winch.

Am I right in thinking 350amp??
    Thanks in advance.

The fuse should be rated for the cable not the winch.what size is the cable?

    From memory,it's between 8 - 10mm. Approx 5ft long. Powered from a single 12v battery.

    You're correct, 4100W/12V = 341A

In reality the 12V battery will drop voltage so the overall current draw will be higher so 350A fuse is a good choice.

You're altenator won't match the load draw so don't overdo it with long pulls without letting the battery recover.

    Much appreciated.

    4.1kw? That's huge.

Are you sure it's 4.1kw? Or does it say 4100kg (lbs) or similar?

    4.1kw (5.5hp) Ironman 4x4 winch. 9500lb winch capacity.

It's 30 odd kilos dead weight.
