new boots - can't feel gear shift

Hi. I bought new boots and I'm finding it hard to change gears because they are so stiff. I feel like I'm moving my whole boot to shift up rather then just flexing my toe/ankle. I'm assuming this will sort itself out as I break in the boots.

    Two things.
    1. Any advice on how I can speed up breaking in the boots?
    2. How on earth does a newbie learn to shift if they have brand new boots?

They'll break in before the week is out.

    Happens with most boots.

A few soakings and they'll be grand and soft.

Adjust the gear lever to suit.
