Digital art tablet for 12yr old

Hi,

My 12 yr old is looking for a digital art tablet for Christmas. After browsing online I am completely confused as to where to look.

He doesn't have a laptop so I'm guessing that will be a requirement also.

Can anyone recommend a tablet or a combination of tablet and laptop?

I have no knowledge of these things but I have bought 2 in recent months for my kids and came to this forum looking for advice.

We have an iMac and I have a windows Surface Pro that he was using. I dont think you need a really high spec but I could be wrong.

You can look for a drawing tablet monitor - More expensive than a tablet but no laptop /PC required

Huion have had some good reviews and are cheaper than the market leader wacom
