Just going to keep this vague unless necessary..

Phoned up about viewing a car today only to be told it’s left the showroom to have the injectors done. No idea if they’re being reconditioned, replaced with new etc.

Just wondering if you lads would see it as a red flag that the cars been abused, or as a good thing that it’s one les part of need to replace?

Hard to know, bit of a catch 22,good that something is being done to it but not good that injectors are being done when it’s in a showroom,if you’re considering it request a full service history and also ensure you get good warranty on it

Hard to know without knowing what type of car it is but injectors being replaced would not suggest that the car has been abused but more that there was an issue with the injectors either because they were a faulty component from the manufacturer or that something happened that requires them to be replaced. For example VW had a recall on injectors on some of their TDi engines. BMW had problems with injectors on some of their cars too.

To be fair to the garage they could have given you a cock n bull story about the car not being available at present to view over telling you the truth up front. You need to get more information as to why they are being replaced.

What warranty will they give? I'd be looking for a year with the injectors covered as part of it, if not walk.

Getting the injectors done = an italian tune up with some dipetane.

    6 months full warranty

    Whats the car?

I think the make and model is important here. I'd be with Bazz in general though, some diesel models, particularly some VAG TDI's and Ford TDCI's are prone to injector trouble from the get go. I'd actually find it a reassurance that they had been done before purchase in one of those cars.

I consider it a bonus. Seems to be a common issue with most diesels in fairness.

They're supposed to be rubbish in terms of reliability anyway. I wouldn't be leaving on account of what he said but the car itself.

Ya they must be the worst Lexus ever made and not even a nice drive when working.

Wouldn't touch one of them whether the injectors were fubared or not.

Op, just walk away and dont look back. Is220 is a car that I would not recommend even to my enemy.

What year? Later ones 2010 onwards had the engine sorted but still had the useless 6th gear

Looks a pretty mean looking spec. Not le mans model.

Le Mans special edition was based on the S Line, that's neither. Looks tidy though and has a few extras like the Bose sound system.

OP, I'd look at the Volvo S80 too:

So you reckon it’s an a6 with a few extras, but not a Le Mans?

That is the run out model before the newer model arrived so Audi stuck a few extras on them to sell. It's not a Le Mans. The Le Mans was based on the S Line and had larger wheels, S Line exterior and Le Mans logo on the front leather seats.

This is an example of a Le Mans edition:

Google the le mans one. Its a pretty cool looking car wheras that one isn't.
