Mazda 6 diy servicing

I have a 2.2d 2013 mazda 6 last serviced in mazda @96 k miles it now has 103k on it, recently the idle has started to get lumpy like a misfire but the service light has not come on yet

the oil level has risen above full which means diesel in the oil so needs oil change, it has a complete mazda history from new but going back at such small intervals is a joke really so I want to do this myself but I have read you need reset oil dillution levels and reset dpf

I know how to manually reset dpf from reading online although I have never done it, anyone on here do oil changes themselves? And also what oil?

I rang 2 mazda dealers in Cork one said use a c1 grade oil the other a c3.

C3 will be fine if your changing it that regularly. You should be able to find a video or guide online specific to your vehicle. More general there is a sticky at the top of this forum.

Would the idle get lumpy if there is diesel after diluting the oil?

I wouldnt think so. Sounds like you have an injector problem which could also explain diesel in the oil.

Nope, failed dpf regeneration dumps the diesel in the oil

Another known problem with these engines Injector seals , great news for me

It could be the reason for diesel in the oil but that also happens when the car is trying to regen the dpf

Time to get it on the ramp and have a look change the oil and filter anyway and go from there

Just reading that about them dumping diesel into the sump. That's madness.

Have the car 2 years now I never had a huge problem but servicing it every 7500 miles is a joke really, a badly designed engine with many flaws and I find mazda poor to deal with.... I will not buy another

I was only saying injector problem thinking as on a traditional common rail diesel a leaking injector could cause diesel to make it to the sump as the car sits overnight and give you a bit of a misfire on that cylinder.

Injector seal would be a different type of leak where the combustion gases exhaust out through the cylinder head. You can actually see a load of soot arounf the outsidr of the injector if this happens.

I'll get it up on the ramp Friday and have a look around I'll try get the software to run a dpf re gen too and service it and see will that fix it .. Hopefully it will ha ha

Id get the cheapest C3 oil you can find and an oil extraction pump. Hopefully access to the filter is good. A scan of the fault codes might lead you to the lumpy idle. Could be totally unrelated.
