A pal is considering going for one.

Is Model S the best version available used?

Where would you source them? There are a few on Autotrader - importing looks attractive.

Any other advice would be welcome.

Model X could also be an option if your friend prefers SUVs. Many people have imported Teslas from the UK.

    I've been driving a Model S 75 for about a year.

Model X is probably too pricey I'd imagine.

There are a few used Model S up on the Tesla UK site. Probably safest place to buy?

Make sure your pal goes in eyes open. They don't have a stellar quality reputation (especially pre 2015 AFAIK), and repair costs out of warranty are pretty much an unknown.

It'll be 2015 or later I think. How does their warranty work here?

    Yes I should think so.

Be careful if choosing a 90D.

There is a thread in this forum regarding importing a CPO Tesla from the UK https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057831386

TL;DR not clear if the warranty would be valid or not or even if your friend would be able to buy it
