How to cover up coating peeling off sole of shoe?

I have black shoes I want to wear to a wedding. The fabric is perfect on them ( as in what will be seen most of time) but the bottom of the soles ( as in the part touching the ground) were black originally that is all now very scuffed and peeled off leaving big grey patches. Has anyone ever tried covering this up?

    Black sharpie.

    Or just get them resoled.

Would you consider getting them re-soled at a cobbler? I shouldn't cost too much.

Thanks for the replies. Considered resoling but as they are dressy high heels I didn’t want them to end up “ chunky” looking or glue coming on to the fabric. It’s worthy asking the cobbler tho!

Endacl.... scuff Cote you’re thinking of I think? That’s another option, I’m afraid of using anything that might leave a trail of black behind me so want to make sure it won’t rub off
