How much do you need to pay for a decent pair of men's shoes?

I'm sick of buying cheap shoes and having to throw them out 6 months later. I want to buy something decent that will last. Without going totally nuts, what sort of money do you have to spend to get a decent pair of shoes that will last? Any recommendations?

It's not necessarily about the amount you pay but the construction. Some €500 shoes won't last, some €100 shoes are great quality. Look for something with a goodyear welt (Loakes, Grenson etc) so that they can be resoled.

Shoes! The best shoes that I ever bought came from a hardware shop! Safety Shoes! They are well made, strong, comfortable and last forever!
