    Hi,

Not sure this thread should be in the Satellite or PC or other forum.

Currently I have an Alien 2 running OpenAtv and a separate ARM Kodi box.

The Alien2 is getting a bit long in the teeth (very slow) and the ARM box needs a separate remote.

For the next gen media/tv player I want to combine everything in one box with one remote. It should be capable of receiving 3xDVB-S2 and 1 DVB-T2, support Kodi, integrated remote, recording, ethernet, internet audio and converting any input into LAN IPTV

Has anyone done this before? I would prefer NOT using a sat box as a start but more a PC with the right cards and slots. Preferably X86 based for more software choice.

    Any suggestion welcome

Yes it can be done yourself, but tuner cards of any quality for a PC are costly, so not a cheap option.
Several have done something similar ...... central Sat>IP tuner box; small light device to manage tuners and recording and EPG etc etc.; and distribute everything on the LAN.

Lots of posts relating to this on the HTPC section
