What happens if you leave the country with a tax liability?

I have a small apartment which I bought many years ago but it's in a bad area and is still way in negative equity. Costs me a fortune each month and I have not paid the tax on the rental income in a few years. I may be leaving the country and hoping to get it sorted before I go - but if I do not, what happens? What exactly can they do?

Register a Judgement mortgage against you and force the sale of the apartment

They may not bother as the lender will get paid first, however the system will remember you, for ever.
Have you done the math, properly, on what you actually owe them?

Perhaps but once the judgement is recorded OP will never be able to borrow again
