Presently using Mullinahone and they cost e1.40 per set. Had intended changing to Shearwell for ease of application but checked their site and a set appears to cost e3.70. I must be reading this wrongly though.

Looking for a reasonably priced tag that is easily applied and stays in.

What are the shearwell like ? Use the cormac ones at €1.40 a set, but open minded to anything cheaper or of better quality.

I got ones off mullinahone not long ago at €1.30 changed till cormac then €1.40 but they say there a better tag time will tell... the mullinahone has tag number printed on both tags at the back but cormacs has just a blank tag on the back of the eid button.

I see the department gave me back my EID Tag money today in the bank account.
I am ragging I didn't go for the maximum of 100 tags. I rarely slip up don't know how I let that slip.

You don't apply. It's based on your 1st order of EID tags after October 2018.
