Do they actually work as intended? As far as I’m aware the intention is to scare kids off smoking and to discourage people in general. But for me personally I’ve never cared one way or another.

It's possible some impressionable folk took it as gospel...

No. Might have shocked the first few times you seen one, but I would say most are amune to them now. Plan packaging will probably go the same way as well, and will have little effect long term.

Probably works better with people not already addicted.

there's one pack I saw recently that had a photo of a guy with the crotch burnt out with a cigarette burn. Smoking causes impotence. :)

I doubt they have any impact on seasoned smokers but might give kids paid for thought.

The puritans want warnings on booze too.
“Warning, drinking this will get you blotto “

I wouldn’t think so. We’ve all known for over 50 years that cigs are deadly. I still see kids smoking.

I was in California and the hotel reception had a warning about alcohol on the desk. Weird thing is that they didn't have a bar.

They could put them inside asbestos packaging, won't stop them smoking.

    Why weird? makes total sense.

I have a sign on my desk about the dangers of sky diving. I don’t even own a parachute.

    Makes total sense.

Why would you build a bar and then warn people about the potential dangers involved in going into a bar to drink?

Why have a sign warning about alcohol when you don't serve alcohol?

They also had a sign on the swimming pool saying you shouldn't get in if yiu have diarrhea. I shudder to think of the event that warranted that sign.

If someone has so little regard for their own health that they are willing to spend a few thousand a year on a substance that is known to cause cancer, I don't think a few pictures will have much impact.

No of course not , it's a severe addiction.

The warnings like you say are in place to discourage the next generation from taking up smoking.

It's a pity some of these warning aren't on sweets, crisps and fizzy drinks
