Pumping a Cavity Wall with Bead

    Hi,

I was interested in getting my walls pumped and got a guy out from a local company, we had a glance into the ESB box and saw some white foam. The guy instantly said that nothing could be pumped in. On further investigation, I discovered that I have 2mm of useless white foam insulation in a 4mm cavity.

I have since spoken to another guy over the phone and he told me that you can pump over the insulation and that he does it regularly. Can anyone tell me is this normal practice?

The first guy only had a quick glance and it wasn't apparent from the ESB box that there was a 2mm gap still free so hoping that my further investigation has us back in business.

Sidenote, the house is a bungalow built in the early 70's.

    MOD NOTE: Moving to Construction

Can you just double check 2mm? Or 2’’ ?
