Lads (usually young) walking about proud as punch with one or both hands down their tracksuit bottoms, what's it all about!!? Are they scared there willy is gonna fall off?

Since when has this BS been acceptable?

    Its social signalling.

By way of acting like a knacker, they are displaying both their origins and futures at once. Self-selection.

Last I checked it's still not acceptable in polite society?

It started back in 2011. No stopping it now.

It’s not acceptable once you get over 40.

Considering teenage lads have all regressed to wearing black bomber jackets and those grey tracksuit trousers, with no socks, having their hands jammed down them is the least of their troubles.

Thought this was about less well off families passing on clothes from older siblings to younger ones.

    But no. It’s bollox

Think they're afraid their nobs will fall off with the lack of support.

I agree. I spotted it back then when I came out of a chipper with my missus after a few beers in the local. Lads and lassies hanging around outside. The lassies were all done up and looking well, but the lads were in trek suits and fiddling with their bits. My missus asked one of them if he wanted some cream for the problem. She thought she was having a laugh. He said he had lots of cream for her while still fiddling with his bits. Girls laughed. My missus kneed him in the bits and his hand! Same guy is a trainee Solicitor now.

Christianity demonised the sexual. This is a subculture making a statement against this?

Is it some sort of gun culture thing where you might be concealing a weapon (oo err) bit like the socks over the tracksuit bottoms is probably to aid shoplifting or stashing drugs, and baggy pants with the arse around the knees apparently originating from prisons where belts weren’t allowed.

Misread the title as "hand me down trackies." .... glasses are broken and the spares are no good.... but got a surprise (!!!!) when I opened the thread, Not got used to the idea of pants, jeans etc that only reach to the bottom of the bottom.....

Must be similar to people wearing their pants hanging below their ass, in prison, to show they're "receptive". :pac:

Saw this in a deli, I pretended to call the Gardai within earshot. He turned around looking angry til he saw I had 8 inches and 8 stone on him. :pac:

Your missus kneed some youngfella that she was trying to make fun of in the balls because he responded to her remark? What?

How about 4 years old instead.

Male equivalent of hooker stance against the wall with leg raised.
