No smoke from gas boiler chimney

I live in an apartment block and I notice some neighbours have smoke coming from their boiler vents and I don't. Others don't also, but maybe they have the heating off. Are there boilers out there that produce less vapour or fumes? Is my my boiler a forever sleep waiting to happen? Gas boiler by the way, Potterton Puma 80e.
