Daily sign on for Jobseekers?

Given the amount of time working people spend commuting, shouldn't we require daily sign on for Jobseekers benefit?

    Simple thumbprint clock in.

Would put a dent in fraudulent claims and offer a real incentive to get a job.

Are all jobseekers to be given free travel too to enable them to do this?

Is your commute to work paid for by your employer?

    At times yes.

One of the (many) issues with your ridiculous suggestion is that the cost of this would be an additional burden on the tax payer.

Jeremy Kyle would rally them up.

I don’t like welfare abuse but these daily After Hours threads are total pish posh.

Were your parents murdered by someone on the dole? There has to be an explanation to this pathological hatred here.

The OP grew up poor even though his dad worked his fingers to the bone.

The OP never did get that Atari Jaguar for Christmas.

    True story.

Just show them your GPS tracking record at the end of the month.
Pretty obvious if you're working anywhere.

Since you ask, I have a free travel card. I probably wouldn't be able to afford to work otherwise, as I'm on a CE scheme, i.e. only €20 a week more than JSA.

So on your commute your biggest concern in life is about people on 188 a week

I wish I had your problems

In fairness, I noticed someone got an infraction (I know, right?) for referring to "black animals" in one of the racist threads earlier today, so it's not all bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,785 ✭✭✭KungPao

    Damn straight.

Anyone on JSA should have to ‘clock in’ and out, at 9:00 and 17:00. If you are late, lose money, don’t clock in, docked a day.

Only fair, us working schmucks have to do it.

The need to get up and have to stick to some sort of plan will help keep them match fit for rejoining the work force.

Or we should just kill the poor. Whichever is easier to implement.

And just how am I supposed to get home from the South of Spain every single day?

Kill the poor and feed them to the starving. Two problems solved in one fell swoop.

Is there ever a day that goes by in here without a dole bashing thread. Always seems to be the same hair brained "solutions" people come up with too.
Most of these solutions would cost infinitely more than what is being defrauded.
It's a classic case of the pennies looking down on the half pennies.
A much more worthwhile and lucrative pursuit would be to go after the big corporations and shysters like Denis O'Brien and close the loopholes which allow them to get away with paying a pittance while your average Joe soap is picking up the slack in their pay packet.

But you know "Dem on De dole is robbing me"

Punching upwards? On After Hours? You must be joking.

What we need is a final solution. For the problem of daily dole threads. I propose a dole bashing forum all of its own.
