I have awful hair, who do I talk to?

I'm a man with thick unruly frizzy hair that I've always struggled with. I've never found a style that works other than keeping it short. I've gone to various high end hair dressers in town in Dublin but didn't really get any where.

This sounds embarrassingly simple, but is there someone I can go to who can tell me how to style my hair?

If I were you I'd go to a barber rather than a hairdresser - barbers are specifically trained for short styles and mens traditional haircuts.

Be aware you'll probably need to experiment with styling products and using tools like hairdryers etc if you have difficult hair to begin with.

I'd recommend my barber, his name is Rob (also known as Wolfgang) and he manages the Cut & Sew barbers on Crow St in Temple Bar. He's really knowledgeable and I'd say be well placed to talk you through things and to work with your hair rather than against. You'd do well to book in with him in advance during a weekday if you can so he has time and there's not loads of people in the shop.

Is your hair naturally curly? If so you should ask your barber/hair stylist for some product recommendations and ideas on how to manage it. Curly hair can be more coarse than straight hair so could benefit from conditioning treatments, and brushing too much can make curly hair frizzy, might benefit from air drying as opposed to the blow dryer.
