What would happen if you showed up with 6 pack of non alcoholic beer? For some reason, I'd rather not try it out, HR would be over asap, but what could they do?

    Non alcoholic beer contains alcohol

    Depends on where you work.

Pretty normal where I am, we have a fridge in my team space that is full of beer and I've a few bottles of whisky on my desk.

Wasn't this done recently? My take would be although it's non alcoholic it smells like beer and going around the workplace smelling of alcohol might be deemed unprofesssional in the same vain as someone might need to be spoken to about in the same vain as BO or bad breath.

They have a small percentage of alcohol naturally, it only has to be at or below a certain level, I think it's 0.05%, to be called "non alcoholic" beer.

Some non alcoholic beers come at 0.0%. Taste like piss water though!

To what end, so you can drink it in the middle of the day type thing?

Obviously gonna cause issues and make you look like an alcoholic.. Call in sick? Probably on the beer.

I'd honestly imagine that an employee doing it was relabelling actual beer.

I've had some seriously skaggy hangovers after drinking a few non-alcoholic beers. It must be the sugar in it or something.

Literally the only possible advantage I could see to drinking non-alcoholic beer is no hangovers. Except you do get them. eugh.

Non alcoholic beer is like giving your sister oral sex.

It'll taste the same but it's just not right.

It might concern the passengers if you are holding a six pack doing your preflight walk around checks

A post 1 made on a thread on that topic:

    "
Most non-alcoholic beers are full-fat beers that are boiled at a certain temperature to boil off the alcohol.

That process is never 100% accurate, so the "beer" always has something like 0.1% alcohol.

That's enough to lump it in with the rest of the booze when it comes to sales regulations."

Most company policies state that you cannot be under the influence of alcohol, as oppose to consuming alcohol. So if you lash down non alcoholic beer, you won't be under the influence. However, most company policies also have that you need to act in a professional manner whilst representing the company, which this could fall into. In theory, nothing wrong with it, but I'd imagine HR would pull you aside and have a chat about the perception it gives

Remember that soft drink called club shandy that was around years ago. I could be remembering wrong but didn't that taste like beer and have a small amount of alcohol in it?

No, it’s Club Shandy. Tasted like a mild “lager top”, had about 0.5% alcohol.

Rock shandy is orange and lemon fizzy drink.
