Advice for brick fireplace

    Hi there

During renovations of our old house we uncovered this beautiful brick fireplace. We had intended on sand blasting it to bring up the brick but we’ve been advised against it as the brick is too brittle.

We fear that painting the brick may look a little tacky. The room is large with 4m ceilings so we want it to be a feature. It will not be a functional fireplace, just a feature for our dining room.

Would anyone have ideas on how to bring the brick out a little?

    Thanks
