It doesn't look like a 'recruitment event' to me. All they're claiming is that they are facilitating something.....

The show encourages experienced and aspiring talents to meet, connect and network with the best aviation companies and industry professionals to create new opportunities that benefit all.

Note the word 'encourages' ... there's no guarantee that a single airline will show up. As with something like an Ideal Homes Exhibition, I'd like to see a list of confirmed exhibitors but there is none on the website, just a list of 'previous participating companies'.

You were spot on here with your insight. If the exhibitor aren't promoting the list of exhibitors, there's a good reason for that. If they had any decent operators exhibiting or if they had a decent number of exhibitors, they'd be shouting about that.

It's a shame really, a good idea badly executed. There's a 'pilot shortage' so you would imagine operators would be attending these events in droves, but if they are poorly organised / promoted, the events will fizzle out.

Why would an airline bother themselves turning up to something like this? AL got nearly 10k applications for its last cadet scheme. It gets thousands of applications directly to HR plus others indirectly from referrals from current staff. There is a shortage of suitable experienced candidates who represent a low training risk. No shortage of low/zero houred pilots.
