    Hi All.

I am looking to modernize an a bungalow built mid 80's.
Un-insulated cavity wall untouched from new. Windows and doors have been updated in the last 5 years.
What do people suggest as best options for insulating?
Primarily looking at wall insulation but any advice is welcome.
I am considering internal insulated slabs but don't want to make the rooms too small so was thinking of something about 1-1.5".
Also considering cavity insulation or both.
Interested to hear peoples experience and advice.
    Cheers.

Pump the cavity now. Consider the drylining after you’ve dealt with air-tightness.

How do I need to go about sorting out air-tightness?
the house is empty now so needs flooring painting some plaster touch ups etc, that is why I want to do interior insulation now if ever.

I’d probably start with attic, and pain stakingly go work th tape & membrane around the ceiling joists to seal the entire attic, then lay insulation over top.
Then Tape all window reveals. Do you have suspended floors?

After the above I’d look at getting the house tested, and decide based on results / remedial works

Then look at ventilation system as opposed to hole in the wall vents

With cavity pumped and at this time of year a thermal heat test would tell you what dry linning would be worth doing ( which maybe could be done by the air-tester)

A lot of drylinning success will depend on how well the house if free from drafts (hence air-tightness works first)
