Mirror installation

    Hi,

I’m hoping someone can help! We have a large and high chimney breast with an inset boiler stove installed. We have been trying to source something for this late plain wall and I was hoping to get mirror. Due to the size, we are getting the mirror custom made and would most likely have to stick it direct to the breast. It would be toughened glass. My question is would the mirror crack when subjected to heat and is there anyway around preventing this? Thank you!

Depends how hot your chimney breast gets?
You probably plan to stick it on using mirror adhesive. Check the max temps on the tube - id be more worried about this failing at hight temp than the mirror cracking.

Thanks, I will measure max temp. Do you have any idea as to what max temp adhesive/mirror could withstand?

You really need to have the person supplying and installing the mirror advise and stand over whatever they recommend.

I would think about using an acrylic mirror unless you really need a glass mirror.
