Hi Folks.I have a two story storage area plenty big enough to convert to living accommodation .Was thinking it needs a new roof.Timbers are fine .Walls are mass concrete .No damp .I have family with most of the skills who would help me in their spare time .Bottom line is I have 25k to spend.Could it be done and rent it out .Not to sell .Just wanted to know is it a non runner or worth investigating further .Thanks for reading .

Is it connected to the main dwelling? If not, then it’s a non runner.

Thanks for the feedback guys .The property is down my yard and very near the septic tank we use for our property .About ten feet away. However if I was to go for a new tank far enough to be the required distance from both buildings could the septic tank be fed by both our home and the renovated property .If not could I have a separate septic tank for each and would the one already being used need to be moved also .All advice valued .Thank you

Its worth following up so .I was hoping that as it was lived in 50 or 60 years ago I might have been able to refurbish it without planning .I will get an engineer.Thank you

If it has been used for storage it will not qualify to convert to a house.
