Hi guys

Anyone able to tell me this.. I’m stuck with a rental car for a week. I need to use the m50 toll bridge 10 times. Went to add the rental car to my account and it’s saying the car registration is registered to another account.

If I just put the tag on the dash without adding the reg to my account, will that do the trick?

Most rental cars I’ve used are registered with the toll company and just pass the charges onto you

Nope. The tag is assigned to reg, so it will charge the tag and still look for payment from that car. Just pay it in the newsagents

Shyte. It’s expensive to pay it in the newsagent, or online. You get a discounted rate for having the tag account.

Along with an Admin fee of 6 euro per journey!!!

Fffffffffff****! And they have the car registered on a tag account, which means they’re getting the discounted rate. They make roughly a €1 on the toll itself, plus the €6 admin fee. No wonder they won’t let me add the car to my account. I might ring Eflow tomorrow and see what they can do about it..

Yeah just ring em, shouldn't be an issue to swap it over for the duration.

Hold your horses! R.O.R was being facetious about the admin fee being €6. Check with your rental company.

They charge you €3.10 for passing though the m50 toll, which is the unregistered car fee. I assume they have video accounts on their cars, so they pocket the 50 cent discount. So you could see that as them charging a 50c admin fee, but you’re not being charged more than the regular toll - you’re just not getting the discount. Realistically it would be a nightmare if they let people set up their own accounts on rental cars. You’d have some tourist from Sweden forgetting to disable the account, and the next driver charging all their journeys to them.

Check with your rental company to see what way they work it.
