Hi, if you pay for a car with your boi debit card (No limit) what are the chances of driving the car home on the same day?

Also do you need to bring any documents? I'll switch my insurance while I'm up there but do you show the dealership your insurance, drivers license or anything else?

    Thanks

I don't know about paying with a debit card but ti should be ok, ask the car dealer in question.

Bring your insurance and driver's licence (you should always have your licence with you anyway..), not for the dealer but for the Garda if you are stopped.

Other details (paying VRT etc) are covered in the Importing from UK sticky thread.

Most debit cards have daily limits so you would need to check with your bank to be certain. If you give them advance notice about a pending large transaction they may be able to authorize it on the day.
