I’m renovating an old bungalow that has no mains water just sub pump from well. Looking for a tank fed electric shower but they all seem to be white and look tacky is there any in metal or black. There is plenty choice of colours in mains fed but I presume I can’t use one of them can I??? As pressure would vary

Triton T90SR, you would hardly know it was running, simply the best.

Triton T90SR is the best pumped electric shower on the market by a country mile. It comes in Satin but you'll pay an extra 100 euro just for the colour

You'll only get metal or black in a mains fed shower. Mains fed showers aren't suitable for most of Ireland as our water pressure is so bad, Any chance of improving the water pressure went out the window when we stopped paying for metered water. We point blank refuse to install mains fed showers from the mains when we do full new installations. They will break your heart. Parts of Dublin they only work off peak as when demand is low the water pressure increases. Even when they do work you'll be scalded if someone runs water at the kitchen tap at the same time.

Another option , especially as you are renovating, is to install a pump between the tank & the mains fed electric shower. This way you aren't relying on mains pressure. You'll have constant pressure from the tank (pump). This will open a massive range of colours & styles in electric showers.

Yet another option is to install HomeBoost pump https://www.salamanderpumps.co.uk/range/homeboost/5

This will boost your mains pressure itself

Pump between tank and shower sounds like best idea thanks. Have you any recommendation for type of pump. Is t90sr very powerfully or would pump to mains fed shower be much better

The only advantage with a separate pump is that you then have a large selection of styles & colours for the shower. The size pump is irrelevant as you will need to slow down the flow to be able to heat up the water. A triton t90sr can pump out 10 litres of water per minute but to have hot water you need to slow this down to 3 to 5 litres of water per minute depending on the time of year.
