Dangerous trolley driving in supermarket

Was out shopping earlier in a large busy supermarket. Then I had a dangerous near miss with a speeding shopper careering around the corner with their trolley from the bakery aisle onto the toilet rolls aisle. They were driving the trolley with a mobile phone in one hand up to their ear at a speed of what felt like 20mph, they were not even looking where they were going with disregard for others especially kids and the elderly.
I did feel that my life was in danger for a split second as I could have been easily knocked over into the hardware(knives and sharp stuff) section behind me due to the potential catastrophic collision.

For public safety, should there be some sort of speed limiters applied to trolleys or maybe a person needs a license to drive a trolley?

Some supermarkets have nice, wide aisles which can accommodate several trolleys simultaneously.

Others have small, narrow aisles that make manoeuvring a trolley tough, but not impossible if the driver is aware of his/her surroundings.

They could place a rubber bumper around the front maybe so if it was to crash into someone, they would at least have some cushioning.

Why would one be in a shop and in this day and age pushing a trolley when you can get it delivered and if 65 or over Tesco delivery is free.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water supermarket.

    All easily explained.

1 I ate a stale donut which gave me the scutters so I was rushing to grab some bog roll.

2 I was on the phone with the manager of the store apologising in advance for the massive shíte I was going to be taking in the aisle.

3 I hate kids and old people so that wasn't me not paying attention that was me trying to hit them with the trolley.

I AM NOT SORRY FOR ANYTHING I DID TODAY

As yarns go, it's a poor effort. Toilet roll aisle beside the bakery section? Life at risk?

Speed limiters are far from needed. The damned things don't go nearly fast enough as it is.

Need a dedicated trolley police and nct brought in asap. Or is it gonna take a tragedy for anything to change?!

Not when one wheel keeps sticking and another doesn't make contact with the ground most of the time. It's akin to pushing a garden roller at times.

Speedbumps should be introduced especially on the aisles being used as rat runs

I encourage everyone to use troll-cam (patent pending) to avoid issues like this in the future. Who knows when, through no fault of your own, you too could be the victim of a trolley related accident? With incidences of trolley rage up 567% since 2015, you owe it to your loved ones to protect yourselves.

Good idea, there is a free for all with no control over them and they don't have brakes either
