Hi, does anyone know the most energy efficient set-up for the control knob on the above boiler? The user manual gives no helpful advice.

My system is a closed system with radiators, controlled by a Nest thermostat, obviously wired to the boiler, but in a separate room.

Scenario; I set the nest thermo to 20C and turn on the boiler.
In a nutshell, I'm wondering if it's better to have the control knob thermostat on the boiler itself set to highest, lowest or middle ground. The nest will turn the boiler off when the detected temperature in a room reaches 20C. So, if the boiler knob is set to lowest, it would follow that the house temp would rise more slowly than if it were set to the highest, in which case I imagine the house temp would reach 20C faster? So...

    TLDR:
Boiler set on low = less gas used per hour, but would have to be on for longer to reach 20C
    Or
Boiler set on high = more gas used per hour, but would be on for a shorter time to reach 20C.

Does anyone know which might be the most efficient scenario... Seeing as there are two thermostats on the system, what is the best balance for fuel economy?

    Many thanks for any input.
