Its doable yourself. A lot of guides online about it. Id say if you got a mechanic to do it, it would be 800-1200 euro. Youd need everything off the 940. Full engine, gearbox, engine loom, ecu, intercooler pipes and intercooler. Probably missing a few bits.

No, I have just started looking into it. I was speaking to someone at my motorbike insurance company and found out they do classic car insurance. The guy confirmed they would cover me on a 30+ year old Volvo that is highly modified. I was reading a couple build threads where people were putting v8s into them, that would be amazing but I am guessing it would be a bit too expensive. I was just working in LA for a couple weeks, it was so nice cycling to and from work and hearing all the different engines driving by, I would love a v8 with a nice burble.

Them sohc engines from the 940 although bulletproof arent the most exciting.ive had a few 940 turbos and even with mild tuning they are not the quickest especially with the weight of the volvos. Ive seen a few swap the 5 cylinder engine from the t5 into 240's and makes a hell of a car out of them. Although alot of custom fabrication work is needed.
