"Far from being a novelty, dog-oriented music is fast becoming a successful new genre,"

"On 3 November, Classic FM will be broadcasting a one-off show for pets, featuring themed numbers such as John Barry’s Crazy Dog. Despite the evidence of dogs’ preference for Bob Marley over Mahler.."

Surprised there was no interest in this. I was hoping for some charming and wacky tales of canine musical appreciation.

Techniques for calming pets is a regular topic at this time of year in the UK due to the annual firework frenzy.

I’m not surprised at the ongoing reasearch into music and calming. Our lad doesn’t really relax with classical, but he seriously does to Neil Younge, Jeff Buckley and oddly Muse and most Jazz, something we listen to a lot.

    ..

That gave me a Cheshire smile I can imagine a lot of chattering noises.

We don’t have a cat at the mo but wouldn’t be adverse to the idea in future...

I normally stick on lyric, not sure if they enjoy it or whether it's just that it blocks the noise of the fireworks somewhat. Last week I came home and when I opened the door O Fortuna was blaring.....very apt when Hoops walked out the door lol!
On a slightly related note, a program that was on TV this evening had very loud fireworks, the screaming ones with loud bangs that usually set him off but he looked towards the TV but didn't bat an eyelid. I wonder was the pitch totally different or something?
