Plumbers/claw wrench

Well, I may as well have been searching for a sky hook.

I'm trying to remove the old bath taps and install a new mixer/shower unit.

As it's a bath tap there's not much room between the bath and the wall, so a normal wrench won't do.

I've tried Dairygold, B&Q (where I bought the tap), PJ Matthews and Heaton/Buckley's Limerick for the plumbers claw or barrel and nobody had one big enough.

The problem seems to be that the tools are made for copper and not the larger 1 1/2" hard plastic attachment.

But, these are standard fittings, surely a big enough barrel or claw wrench must be readily available?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
