Am I the only one thinking there is very little difference in car prices in UK and roi? All things considered it’s really not worth the trouble. Am I right?

    Not really.

There were thousands of used cars imported from the UK last year and the same this year so far so it would appear all these people must be saving some sort of money. Do you have any examples that you think is to the contrary?

Speaking from personal experience, I bought a 6 week old demo for a few grand less than a much lower speced demo would have cost here. So for me it was worth it

That 5 series price here is fantasy land meaning the actual saving is a lot less.

    It’s subjective..

Personally I saved over 10K on a 6 month old import

I know a work colleague who saved over 20K on a car.

I also think that older cars say 4 years or more, are similarly pric d but the difference in spec on the UK cars are light years ahead.

There were 80,000+ cars imported from the UK this year so far, 76,000 last year. I’m fairly sure that the vast majority of people buying those cars also priced cars here yet opted for the uk import.

I think it’s safe to say that you are completely wrong on this one. There may be a very small number of cars which are cheaper or almost as cheap as the UK counterpart but for the most part uk cars are better value for money. You’ll get s car with less mileage and almost always higher spec for less money in the UK.

Even independent dealers are shopping in the UK these days and selling the cars here for a tidy profit.

OP still hasn't given examples of cars that cost similar here to in the UK.

€10,000 on a less than year old 530d OP? Just one example.
