Boards.ie on Samsung smart TV

    Hi,

I have a Samsung smart TV. At this stage it's about 5 or 6 years old. The browser was always pretty basic and clunky, but it did the job for casually browsing most websites.

For the last several days, any page from Boards.ie will just not display on the TV. It's as if the webpage does not exist. I get the message 'Server Not Found'.

Has there been a technical change recently at Boards? I'm not too fussed, just wondering.

    ;)

    Hi StreetLight,

I've looked into this for you and it's possible that your browser doesn't support TLS (Transport Layer Security) 1.2, which is now the minimum that Boards requires. This change was made a couple of weeks back.

What browser does the TV run?

    Hi Mark,

The browser appears to be Samsung's own from 2010! I wouldn't imagine upgrades being supported on something that relatively old.
Just one of those things - no biggie.

    Thanks anyway. ;)
