anyone know approx what it would cost to keep an extra 10 beef cattle( steers) on a farm? what extra feed costs are we talking? (silage grass ration etc) when buying in the cattle at 11-12 months of age and fattening them for the year and sending them for slaughter next year at 24 months?

how do I work that out?

    Thanks

Every farms different work out your purchase price work out your finished price ( realistically) minus your dosing, vets, land cost fertilizer bedding esb slurry, all the other bits and pieces and you’ll probably realize your better off without them.

Do you have space for them even? Never mind feed

I am seeing if I can. I am new to this I.e management side of things. I have slatted house that could hold 45 cows so think I'm ok on that basis.
