Laptop not discovering network.

We changed over our rural broadband (0.54 mbps!) to Mynet today. It's very ggood in comparison to what we had but I have one slight issue. The installer said our own router was of superior quality to the one they provide with the package so he suggested keeping it. All of our current devices connected no problem (phones, xbox one, roku etc). My Fujitsu laptop doesn't even discover it having previously connected to the router on the old network. It wasn't the last device I tried and I connected a tablet and roku box since I attempted the laptop. What completely obvious setting am I potentially missing here?

Sounds like network card needs restarting

I forgot to mention that the laptop is picking up the neighbours 3mobile signal.
