Hot water cylinder replacement - advices

    Hi all

I need to replace old water cylinder and add cold / hot water pump and looking for advice.

    Current situation:

Small 3 bed semi detached (2 adults, 2 kids) with open vented system. Uninsulated copper cylinder with immersion + 1 coil, gas boiler, 8 rads, no controls - only timer, manual valve to turn on/off rads

I was thinking of replacing current cylinder with small (up to 150l) open vented rapid(??) cylinder with immersion + 1 coil + cylinder thermostat. Also would like to add cold/hot water pump in the same time. Should there be also thermostat for water in the central heating system? or setting up boiler to 60c is enough.

I don't want anything fancy and I'm not planning to add solar panels (may consider PV in years time).

Could you advise what would be needed and what's used currently (e.g. what brands, models and what should this cost inc labour) so I don't end up with some outdated system or some gadgets which I don't need :)

    thanks
    p
